Catrice Clay-ton, My Hero Swatch & Review

Hi!

Today a swatch of Catrice Clay-ton, My Hero. I’ve had this one for a few months and have worn it once already. If I wear a color more than once, it means I really like it. Clay-ton, My Hero is one of those colors. Let me show you why.

Clay-ton, My Hero is a “greige” color with gold shimmer. Bottle color looks lighter than on the nail. Barry M Dusky Mauve (perfect dupe for Chanel Paradoxal)  has this same effect, I can’t really explain it. It just seems more “washed out” in the bottle, especially if you look at it at an angle. It must be the combination of base color and shimmer. The base color of Clay-ton, My Hero is very much like Catrice Absolutely Chinchilly. It’s as if they took Absolutely Chinchilly, threw in some gold shimmer and they were done. The base color of Clay-ton, My Hero does look a little bit more red, but I’m not sure if that’s because of the gold shimmer or because the base color really is different. In this photo you can see them next to each other. In real life, the difference is much smaller.

Anyway, it’s a gorgeous color. The shimmer is just the right amount. Not too much, not too little. It looks very luxurious, if I’m making any sense.

Application wise it was like almost all Catrice polishes. They apply quite well. I like the flat, big brush, although it’s too big for my pinkie. All Catrice polishes I’ve tried so far, are two-coaters. I topped everything off with INM Out The Door and had visible brushstrokes on all my nails :( What am I doing wrong?!

Well anyway, this is the end-result:

With flash.

Daylight. Notice the brushstrokes in the second photo.

That’s it for now. Bye!

It reminds me of China Glaze “Classic Camel”.
